A lot of the larger abandoned magazines are just spam pools now. I don't see their posts in my feed, but I don't like that the two sidesbars of random posts and threads are now just spam advertising sidebars. I triedblocking the magazines, but doesn't that prevent the posts from showing in those sidebars....
Hello everyone!...
3 or 4 spam "Buy Phloboxidril Now In Your Area" posts per day were tolerable. 20 to 50 aren't. I know I could block the magazine, but I'm just one of the many who are subjected to it....
Banning spam accounts on kbin.social is a cumbersome affair....
Feeling thwarted by the 404, I suddenly remembered there are plenty of curated feeds over in Collections for us to browse. Have updated one of mine to reflect newer communities.
A serial comma (or Oxford comma) is an optional comma used before the last item in a list. For example, "bread, butter, and tax evasion" uses a serial comma, whereas "bread, butter and tax evasion" does not....
It's a new year — about 6 months since that Reddit migration occurred — and Kbin progressed a ton in 2023. What are your thoughts on it? How much value have you gotten out of it, and what would you like to see in the future?
Just curious if it's somehow got to do with anything on my end. I'm generally desktop-only, firefox-only.
the acccount name is fuckyou and is downvote stalking me , account : https://kbin.social/u/Fuckyouzima
AskKbin is back to federation with Lemmy.world!...
I'm not asking to be snarky or anything... I'm subbed to plenty of magazines that I enjoy reading....
Full credit goes to: /u/Pamasich for working on it and helping me out with CSS, the below CSS I will mention is fully made by he/her with my feedback, again thank you!...
Been helping moderate some many huge communities here on kbin such as m/AskKbin, m/Redditmigration and so on, trying to contribute in ways I can....
https://kbin.social/u/Zamilhost has been posting a bunch of spam posts for free movie downloads with suspicious links that use a link shortener....
@Ernest has pushed an update which allows users to request ownership/moderation of abandoned magazines. Ghost/abandoned magazines were fairly prevalent after the initial wave of hype due to users either squatting magazine names or becoming inactive for other reasons. Now is your chance to get involved, if you were waiting to do...
Hi all. I have decided to shut down the unofficial kbin guide magazine (https://kbin.social/m/unofficial_kbin_guide) as well as shut down the unofficial docs page: https://unofficial-kbin-guide.surge.sh/....
The blurb below is excerpted verbatim from the release notes. For the full release notes, see here....
We'll still get their content but be unable to interact.
I'm slowly catching up with backlog tasks and cleaning up instances, but there's still quite a bit to do. Day by day, I'm managing to work longer hours, but I still need some time to ramp up the intensity of work. Just wanted to let you know that there might be brief downtimes in instance operation over the weekend. I aim to...
I have a sense of how these decisions look in the board room— just curious what they look/feel like on implementation given that people presumably don’t enjoy putting in effort to make a thing worse, obviously don’t dox yourself and get in trouble at work!
@streaming21 has been spamming the fediverse magazine with movie links What is the best way to get a particular rogue account looked at?
i don't want spam or posts against the rules to be showing up on other sites like lemmy because the deletion on kbin isn't federated, it feels irresponsible to me and will make the community look bad. can i delete a magazine?
When you're in the All Content view, the arrows on the page select always act as if you're on page 1. I.e., the left arrow never works, and the right arrow always sends you to page 2. Not sure why this is.
