My own personal opinion of the Nijisanji implosion: preamble.

This will be a short thread going over my own personal thoughts over the Nijisanji's EN branch and the events leading up to this. For the past 2 years I have been predicting the eventual downfall of Nijisanji and have compared it to the wrestling company WCW. The reason being because Nijisanji's internal staff seems to be making the same mistakes to the point that if they don't solve them well... Something like the Selen drama would happen. While rrats and speculation runs rampant what my posts will be going over is my own mindset on the situation. This isn't supposed to be my own "grand unified rrat" this is supplemental information and personal theories as to why some of that rrat is true and what it gets wrong. At least in my opinion.

The gurrat link so you can read about already existing theories.

The next posts below will cover different sections I think people should know that led up to Selen's termination. :back_from_gab:

The destruction that many vtubers corps are experiencing has long been predicted by me months in advance. Bratty industry needs correction 💢 the vtuber apocalypse is in effect.

So what now after this prediction? Another prediction:

It is time for THE END. The snap is coming for vtubers.

Twitch, with their streaming services running since 2007, will shut down or be sold to competitors. Timeframe? Within the year, or after next year. They're in danger. The rampant banning of high tier streamers, insufferable ads, increasing competition, and uneven rule enforcement will lead to a heavy collapse of twitch.

What does this mean for vtubers?

Pretty much all larger streamers may take a hit but they'll survive. But lower view vtubers will be destroyed in the carnage without alternatives. Regulars on Twitter better get their alts set up on the streaming sites they want to be at because it will be chaos in the event of a shutdown or a buyout. One of the names thrown around in a supposed buyout of twitch is Rumble, which has a political slant currently and will clash with twitchs politics. However Rumble has Peter Thiel money, and one of the people that could arrange a buyout.

I for one welcome the end to the whores. :back_from_gab: :fire: :twitch: :fire:

Tadano,

@zemichi @kumicota @rlier23 @deadheat @takao I haven't heard anything regarding Gura retiring, didn't she stream like a week ago? She does stream far less than most of EN, I hope she's doing OK. In agreement that 2023 is a year of yab though.

As for the threat of YouTube's de-facto monopoly, I hope this pushes agencies into funding Peertube development. So far it's the only viable, federated, self-hosted YT alternative I know of. Dunno how good its live streaming capabilities are though. Regardless, given the vulnerabilities from relying on YT and Twitch for the agency's income and the recent yabs I think the potential benefits would outweigh the risks of pursuing R&D into this.

Gura is a vtweeter now. :gura_cry:

That's a hyperbolic statement but I shouldn't be able to say that and it sounds true. Streamers should be streaming. If they're not streaming they're something else. :gura_dum:

While nobody is gonna go for this, it wouldn't hurt if some vtubers had some supplemental video and streaming accounts off the mainstream sites.

If they have a large audience, they'll follow to a smaller site. And those people will be willing to donate on those streams. It would help some people not get bottlenecked into making certain content that won't get them banned off the mainstream sites. :backfromgab: :peertube:
