There's lower gun ownership per capita than in 1997 but it was fairly low anyway and there are still millions of legally owned firearms here. Where I was living in the eastern suburbs about a decade ago, there was a gun shop down the road from me. There is also more ease of black market purchases today (I hear thru the grapevine pls no bully asio).
