The fact that you can follow the president of the United States (@potus) from your Mastodon account instead of being forced to have an X or Threads account for it is a huge W in my book. Of course our team is fully available to help if they'd want to set up Mastodon on whitehouse.gov. I believe governments should not rely on 3rd party platforms to connect with their constituents.

@pokarim Hey Pokarim (or anyone from mstdn.jp), I always get this GeoBlock(?) when I visit mstdn.jp or any post. Can't even tag the admin as they're unknown. Would be nice to share it with the admin if you can. Also recall that it's been sold.

@graf @alex I know about that. I'm looking at this - directly tip/zap from a post. Enter Card details and you're done in a few seconds. Users are well, just LAZY and don't want to re-learn.

@LeslieBurns @Liliana Wikipedia doesn't have a check for that? Like, automatically check the meta/location etc of the uploaded pic and accept or reject after verification? 😳 Didn't know it was a free for all.

@LeslieBurns @Liliana E.g. If I check the EXIF info of the link that OP shared, I see the following details. A majority of photographers strip this before uploading it to their website.

@graf I know. The EXIF info is stripped. And so are the images I upload here.
