Kbin has many of the same issues lemmy does, specifically there’s no way to clear old image cache making it essentially a growing storage nightmare. There’s also been no updates to the software in over 4 months and the last time burger tried updating it, everything broke, forcing us to go to a backup.

It feels like it would be going down a similar rabbit hole where the expense the instance would require to keep running would just grow and grow, and I wouldn’t be able to shoulder such a growing expense.

However, we’d be willing to look into setting up mbin as the project matures, since it’s getting updates rather frequently.

as far as shota.nu. It’s running open-source software called linx-server

Shota house is invite only because while it has a similar mission, it’s more so my cozy space. It’s existed for a while before Burggit and has always been on an approval only basis, this is to make moderation easier on me and also protect myself from bad actors and what not.

While i’d love to connect burggit and shota house in a way which would automatically let people join shota house. If they have had a burggit account for over a certain amount of time and have a certain amount of posts/activity. I’m frankly not technically minded enough to do such a thing. So the process will remain manual.

As for how I find these various services, there are a ton of various ways to find federated services such as fediverse.party which is where I first discovered various federated technologies. But I know others exist.

Shota House and Mastodon are both based on Activitypub. Shota House uses something called Akkoma which is a fork of Pleroma which itself is meant to be a super lightweight version of Mastodon, since Mastodon is legendarily bloated and hard to setup/maintain.

that’s basically all I know of at the moment.

In my opinion, it’s too late for AI. Unless every single country in the entire world can all universally agree on AI restrictions, which is impossible and never going to happen. If there is a country with even half-way tolerable internet access, there will be VPNs/Proxies for that country that people will use to access unregulated AI. Not to mention other countries will absolutely use AI to their advantage, no doubt using the lack of local regulations to jump ahead of the competition.

That’s my opinion anyway.

I’m not familiar with any apps, we’ve always suggested use of the web app as we found other apps were lacking in multiple ways.

I also think with the patches applied it kind of makes the best of both worlds, since people can see NSFW posts, but they aren’t immediately flashed with NSFW content if they don’t want to look at it.

While that might be true, people have many different tastes and there’s lots of fetish content on this site. What might be appealing to one person could severely disturbing to another. It’s best not to flash people (in my opinion) with a ton of expanded NSFW images if they do not want to expand them. Back when we had things auto expand and unblurred, I personally saw some things that I was not personally ready for. Not like they outright disturbed me or anything, but they were just more than I was bargaining for in that very moment.

And having no NSFW shown at all unless you make an account makes the site seem like it’s way less active than it is. We’ve actually noticed a few new faces show up since we implemented the patch, I don’t exactly know if it’s due to the patch or not, but it’s definitely noticeable.

We tried an app called Boost and didn’t have any issues. And it’d be very difficult for us to make sure the site (which we are prioritizing the desktop experience for) worked on all the apps. Since they all might have their own little quirks as to how they grab/display content.

The disclaimer is not necessary, however removing it without touching the code would be fairly difficult due to the way the LemmyNSFW fork is setup. Makes everything super hard to navigate and modify. All the code is minified and otherwise obscured beyond human comprehension. This is why we replace the text as opposed to removing the actual disclaimer altogether.

You could probably use a service like Crypton.sh to get a phone number to attach to Telegram, while not linking it to your actual identity. I’ve used this method for various sites which require phone verification.

Have you looked at F-list? It can be a bit of a pain to get the hang of it, but once you do there’s usually not a problem finding a partner, especially if you’re playing a female character.

They switched admins yesterday and while the old admin was cool with most legal content, the new admin seems hellbent on taking away all porn that is even slightly controversial. They also immediately defederated with us because while the old admin took a pro loli/shota/cub stance, the new one absolutely did not and even announced defederating us. As you can probably imagine, we’ve gotten a decent chunk of signups since this change, enough to warrant this post welcoming them.

Even if we did do that, people would defederate us just in general, it’d also almost certainly be seen as us bending or breaking on our stances, by doing this we’re essentially saying that they have power over us.

If they have power over us, we are no more friendly to free speech and expression than they let us be. We will not bend or break on our policies. If it wasn’t for the loli’s they’d defederate us for other reasons, we’re not going to be pressured into ruling with a golden hammer and sickle like other instances do.

Not to mention, it would split up our own communities between 2 separate instances and put more work on us by having 2 instances to maintain instead of one. That’s extra manpower and resources we’d have to dedicate, resources we just don’t have and for an end goal that we have no desire to achieve (and is realistically unachievable).

Lemmy NSFW was loli friendly until the change in leadership as of today, posting lolis on their instance was not against the rules, so there’s nothing to punish.
