I downsized from a Fold 4 to a Flip 5, after having used the Note series since it came into existence, and can attest that the minimal weight and size are perfect. I can control media and respond quickly to messages on the external screen then flip it open for browsing the Internet. I’m sold on this form factor.

I got the Cyberpunk 2077 graphic novel ebooks from the library two days ago and have been reading them. They’re decent so far but I was hoping for something a bit more lore heavy.

I can’t wait! I have the Fold 4, and it was great when I was a power user, but I’m just not using enough features to justify the weight. And the reliability has been mediocre. I nearly hopped on a Flip 5 but I want to see how the S24 lineup compares.

Checks were unpopular in the US well before the 2010s and everyone had debit cards well before that.

Sometimes people pay with checks when they’re waiting for money to hit their account, like if it’s a day before their payday, because businesses usually don’t cash checks until the following day.

This is a bad practice and I do not recommend anyone do it.

Tap and chip didn’t catch on until the 2010s for sure, but debit cards in general were everywhere in the US. They just had a barcode you swiped.

The AI leaks sound interesting, like being able to have a phone conversation with a person in another language. My cleaning lady doesn’t speak English so this will be super handy for me if it works as promised.
