I know burning bridges is bad but we had a soft mutual "breakup" because I really do love her (she's a very sweet and naive girl despite acting antithetical to that, which is the opposite of me) but I only get to see her for a short time every two weeks or so because she's so busy now and we both agreed there's not much of a future in that situation. She wanted to remain good friends though, precisely because I'm a caring person in a world that she sees as negative or uncaring towards her, and I was willing to try it, thinking that I'm more mature these days and I can handle it.
Well it turns out I can't.
Growing up I'd burn bridges with girls that I was into but wanted to remain friends because I didn't know how to handle that kind of situation, and then moving into adulthood I'd burn bridges with girls that were unrequitedly interested in me, as well as girls I broke up with because I didn't want to put them through that. I don't know how to just "move on" while keeping them as part of my life, because I don't like being so close to someone I can't be affectionate or intimate with.

Anyway back in medieval times they used to have all sorts of festivals and dances and vernacular art and music and games. I don't know if they considered "fun culture" to be its own sort of segregated thing from regular day-to-day life like we do now, but fun definitely has existed since primitive man.
