I was in this study discord years ago and they would hold smallish competitions for who could do the most pomodoros of study in a week. It really helped at first because I liked seeing my bar getting bigger than other people's bars. Then I found out that people would just count a pomodoro as doing anything productive including shit like taking a shower and having breakfast and I lost all motivation to participate.

had a dream the night before last that I was walking through a field. I walked past two horses talking to each other in plain English. I didn't register the event as absurd until I had moved past them - they were cantering but I somehow moved faster than them. When I stopped and looked back they had turned into human women but they were eating apples which I deemed as "horseish" behavior. Turning back again I saw another woman standing a short distance from me, wearing a black and white flannel shirt and holding a glass of milk. I thought "she must be a cow" and woke up shortly after.

@binkle @RustyCrab @eidolon it's a thing here where you put your junk on the curb at allotted times and eventually the local gov comes to pick it up and take it to the tip. Because it's going to just get thrown out anyway it's more or less acceptable to take anything cool you see on someone's front lawn under the assumption that it's for verge side collection. Some people make a side-hustle out of selling furniture they find on people's front lawns during verge-side collection.
