...the capitalists, we gotta start policing this stuff...
I'm curious to hear what should be done to prevent situations like this, and would like to see those involved jailed for what is highly likely illegal in some form already.
As a Canadian, who does live under single-payer, I will add that the same problems that allow this to happen also make the public option worse. No matter what your system is, accountability is crucial.
And within military circles, investing in weapons is being held up as the ethical thing to do. Last month, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg called for more money to be allocated to weapons, arguing that there’s “nothing unethical about defending our freedom.”
that awkward moment where they basically didn't deny illegally censoring people because biden told them to, the court just said it's fine because we used fascism to do it.
literally that was the ruling.
"well yeah we coerced them at gunpoint, but it was a private company that did it under coersion so thats why its allowed"
@icedquinn
With how terrible Canadians are too each other, it's no wonder we have the problems we do. It makes things like rapidly expanding assisted suicide during a cost-of-living crisis look malicious.
On top of everything else, it makes sense why so many would want to take the "easy way out."
But hey, as the first "post-national state" we get to be a beacon of progressive enlightenment values for the world! I'm sure humanity will proudly remember Canada when it's sold off to Amazon. @Saorsa

I'm fully expecting Pierre Poilievre to get the boomer vote and we get 10 more years of crushing austerity while they blame everything on people who couldn't afford to live. (TFWs, Many zoomers & millenials, retirees, etc)
By the end of it I'm sure politics will get interesting as the idea of a functional Canada leaves living memory.
@icedquinn
Hard work is a virtue when it has a tangible impact for your family and community.
When everything is owned by corporations that see people as yet another natural resource to expend, the dynamic shifts a bit.
This gets even worse when people realize their gain is only made at a greater loss for those around them. That's tolerable for some people for some time, but eventually it becomes unworkable.
Given that most people are too stupid to compile from source. I'm considering selling my games while providing the full source code with assets included on Codeberg or any other repository host. It might be a sustainable business model.
"Kernel-mode anti-cheat does not represent attack surface! It's entirely unhackable! It's literally impossible for there to be any vulnerabilities! It's the absolute pinnacle of secure code! It's bug-free! You're schi-"
UPDATE: Both companies are denying involvement, and the streamer in question is suddenly "interviewing" the person who supposedly popped him. I'm calling bullshit on said streamer.
Also, the Twitter here jumped the gun and posted this after two (2) people got pwnt.
Would be interesting to see the where people would end up.
PS: Quadrant positioning is arbitrary
New political compass is something like "wanted to fix institutions" vs "wants to start fresh" on the vertical, and "believes in trust based systems" vs "believes in trustless systems" on the horizontal. Will pluralism and polarization on this compass be just as tough as on the usual one?
