Does anybody have a thunderbolt docking station they can PERSONALLY recommend? Do not just google and paste it here. You need to have used it to verify it's not a piece of shit.
I need:

  • two monitor displayport (THAT ACTUALLY WORKS -- it usually doesn't even if the specs say it does)
  • one HDMI port
  • will plug into linux AND windows and work
  • 3-4 regular USB slots

The only vaguely useful thing more ram would get me currently is using outlandish dictionary sizes in compression programs and potentially then potentially not needing 7hours to decompress said files. But that's a weird rabbit hole i like to fuck around with.

Gaming wise devs are getting weirdly sloppy and just hoping fsr/dlss will cover up the slop in ue5. But most of that needs more vram and base system ram needs hasn't really moved in ages unless you really like to never close apps while also gaming.

@icedquinn unpossible. Thinking back, most of mine were at least 4-6 hours. Although i'm pretty sure i had some after school sessions early on that were probably right about 2 hours a shot.

@icedquinn Jeremy is sad. I sorta miss RTS, but the hyper extreme focus on apm ruined it. So I'm kinda with you there.

@icedquinn the basic problem with that rts wishlist is... it's basically boils down to did you scout your enemy. If you remove most micro- it falls back to econ and building the right units. Which, while making the correct choices should be rewarded. I'm not sure hard GG conditions are the way to go either.
