/kbin Road to Release devlog series (kbin.social)

From today, I'm starting a small series of daily devlogs where I'll be describing the changes being implemented before the official release of the first version of /kbin. As I mentioned earlier, I had some minor turbulence in my private life from which I'm slowly emerging. I have partially stabilized my life situation in various...

Could blocked magazines no longer appear in Random Post and Random Thread sidebars? (kbin.social)

A lot of the larger abandoned magazines are just spam pools now. I don't see their posts in my feed, but I don't like that the two sidesbars of random posts and threads are now just spam advertising sidebars. I triedblocking the magazines, but doesn't that prevent the posts from showing in those sidebars....

Just wanted to let you know that there might be brief downtimes in instance operation over the weekend. I aim to...

Developers of Fedi, have you been asked to implement functions that clearly reduce the functionality of the app or website you contribute to? How do you handle it? (kbin.social)

I have a sense of how these decisions look in the board room— just curious what they look/feel like on implementation given that people presumably don’t enjoy putting in effort to make a thing worse, obviously don’t dox yourself and get in trouble at work!

can a magazine be permanently deleted? i don't want to attempt to mod when post deletion/moderation is not federated (kbin.social)

i don't want spam or posts against the rules to be showing up on other sites like lemmy because the deletion on kbin isn't federated, it feels irresponsible to me and will make the community look bad. can i delete a magazine?
