A Haitian migrant charged with the aggravated rape of a child in Massachusetts was released on $500 bail, despite an ICE detainer.
Police say 26-year-old Cory Alvarez was one of 30,000 Haitian "asylum seekers" who entered the US in March via a Biden federal parole program. Immigrant sanctuary laws in Massachusetts allowed authorities to ignore ICE requests, and a judge released him.
