@matrix if you develop a nose bleed while under general anaesthesia they treat it by putting cocaine on a sponge on a stick and then sticking the sponge up your nose. The cocaine is really good at constricting blood vessels and stopping the bleeding.
Cocaine is also used as anesthesia for some nasal surgeries because it both numbs and prevents bleeding.
