@enigmatico how is passwordless sign-in a privacy feature? It's the opposite of that, if anything.

But no, Firefox isn't private either. Otherwise, Librewolf or Mull browsers wouldn't exist.

@enigmatico @newt they have been tinkering with some other things than that. but they do have an adblocker, which mozilla doesn't want to admit they still don't because they are ultimately a google product.

@enigmatico @newt probably why the "tracker blocking" bullshit from mozilla is disingenuous. they know they should absorb ublock, but won't, because that would make the paymasters upset. so by putting in a token "facebook bad" virtue signal they can seem like good guys while they ultimately profit on the people they're supposedly protecting you from :ablobfoxhyperthinking:

not sure how someone makes a bad search engine in 2024 you can literally get neural embedding code for free off the net that does a moderately acceptable job
