Ian Fleming in the 60s claims Austrian women are only 1/10th as beautiful as English women, because Austrian women are racially too diverse. he'd really love the UK today :akko_smug:
@kaia@Arcana it's got the finest the UK has to offer, a beautiful environment that brings out the best in people. violent gangs, child abuse rings, teens murdering each other, rampant alcoholism...
@sim@kaia@mia Yeah answering the door is quite literally how people have died. I have recurring nightmares about people trying (and sometimes succeeding) to break in
@Arcana@kaia@mia Yeah, I think that is how a little girl died in the story that I linked to. I don't know what the answer is. Except that a lot of this can be solved by people not using drugs, then there is no market for it and they have to go elsewhere.
@tiskaan@kaia@mia@sim while I am in favor of getting rid of drug laws, and I do see it as a health matter not a legal matter, I don’t think it would complete solve a lot of the violence here. It would still be a step in the right direction though to alleviate people’s dependence on and the profit of the cartels
A lot of people who are violent and sadistic though seem to do it for the sake of it and I’m really not exaggerating there. One of my mum’s former co workers, her son was stabbed on a local train years ago because he had long hair. Drugs were irrelevant to that
@sim@Arcana@kaia@mia they either become legal entities and have to participate with economy properly OR someone else will and overtime the cartels will run out of money. or they move onto other shit 🤷♂️
either way gang violence would stop.
Ive heard about millitant sections of IRA doing direct action against drug dealers in north ireland if you want local community based stuff in the UK LMFAO.
@tiskaan@Arcana@kaia@mia@sim mobsters used to "go legit" from time to time. back in the mafia days some of those businesses were legitimate and the money laundering was secondary. they used to appoint people to assess those after arrests and see if it were possible to sever the business and turn it back over on its own.
for drug operations they would have to bring the workshops up to code.
although drug legalization is cursed. mostly because the state wants at that tax money, the companies want at that crony capital protections, and people are used to the black market's swift efficiency :blobcatancap: (we don't have a syndicalist blob) that the massive price increases brought by all the statists trying to 'get theirs' gets rejected.
