@MoeBritannica found him on twitter/linkedin. He was a 3D modeler / environment artist. His art station looks pretty good to me:

But I'm not an art guy so I wouldn't be able to tell you if there's anything wrong with it.

I'd be curious to talk to a programmer on the Madden / College Football team at EA to see how much porting of old code does actually take place. I know a former producer who used to work on madden so I might be able to get an inside scoop if you guys are interested (not quite as good as a programmer but he might have some idea)
