@thomasfuchs because the internet is filled with people who know absolutely nothing about technology and think that AI is gonna replace human jobs and go full skynet or something. And theyre all trying to cash in and they dont wanna admit that they dont understand the technology and are fools. Its like the NFTs and cryptpcurrency.
@RedCyberPandaz@thomasfuchs It would be interesting to do a study of exactly what percentage of LLM/"AI" grifters were pushing web3/NFTs/the metaverse/blockchain just a couple of years ago.
Certainly, there's no shortage of big name VCs and tech bosses who've jumped from one bandwagon to the other. Think Andreessen, Thiel, Musk, Zuckerberg, etc.
I suspect it's largely the same people who have jumped from one tech grift to the next.
@ajsadauskas@RedCyberPandaz@thomasfuchs I’m sure a large percentage consists of people who know how crypto went down and are figuring if they’re in early then they can score big before everything goes up in smoke. Learning all the wrong lessons, as usual.
