@chainsaw_appreciator @DW2 @eee ah one of those "music used to be better in my time" types. speaking as a musician and not as a fan I actually think 10,000 days is a great album that was composed well. fear inoculum is trash however and they know it. i paid for front row tickets to a concert we attended recently and the majority of the set list was from past albums. chosing to focus on that and not their recent album was a wise choice.

i agree james maynard keenan is an uppity faggot (i literally watched him crabwalk on stage for 2 hours) but there is no way you can argue TOOL isn't great

@chainsaw_appreciator @DW2 @eee "Jambi" off 10,000 days utilized a talkbox. an instrument only really used by Peter Frampton and not widely seen on commercial tracks. the sound of the talkbox is unique because it's audio piped through thin tubing that uses your mouth and the mic as its primary augment. TOOL has historically pushed boundaries on a lot of shit -- I don't and will never agree with james maynard keenan on anything but their music is never political (except for that one track on Salival "LAMC")

I'm not arguing their lack of technical skill. If you told me Dany Carey sold his soul at the crossroads for ungodly drumming skills I'd belive it.
My argument is that Maynard is a faggot of such biblical proportion that his ego can eclipse even that level of mastery.

@chainsaw_appreciator @DW2 @eee i agree with you he is a colossal faggot and that danny carey is Gods Own Drummer. that concert was crazy. they pulled out Alex Lifeson for a cameo and Danny Carey came out from behind the drums to greet him and everything. real Trailer Park Boys vibe because Carey was wearing basketball jersey and shorts. in any event, I will settle with you that Feat Inoculum was the worst album they could have ever put out and making fans wait over 10 years for an album was gay as fuck but I will stand by everything else they've done

Danny Carey is why I got into playing drums originally, actually
