When Leonid Brezhnev ruled the Soviet Union, there was a popular saying
that captured the cynicism engendered by the socialist economy: “They pretend
to pay us, and we pretend to work!”
@mk i'm still in the whole mixed market meme.
or maybe a different name for it.
i don't really concern myself with state owned things (the state should own some things, as is necessary to ensure security of the food supply.) but more quashing the extreme highs and lows of the market.
market capitalism and syndicalism works fine outside the extreme edges so i think its best not to touch the middle parts. amputating superwinners is probably good and has natural precedent (nature tends to include mechanisms like dying so that elite genes can't dominate forever), though i'm sure most of fedi would disagree with me (but what do i ever say people do agree with?)
@mk the state doesn't have to own all of the food supply.
its just that the origins of the state happen to come from active management of the food supply requiring supply chains (and eventually, creation of the "bread lord" which is the origin of the feudal lord)
