currently debating if I should repair the greatest laptop I've ever had or just let it die finally :niggavoid:

Pawlicker,

@RustyCrab oh no what happened :(

@Pawlicker the laptop itself seems to still work fine other than needing a repaste. The built in monitor does not work however, and that keeps me from entering or seeing the BIOS, so I can't even turn it into a linux server. The GPU seems to be fine because it performs normally if you get it past the boot screen. I'm really not very knowledgeable about hardware so I'm not eager to poke around inside of it

@Pawlicker honestly I don't need it fully repaired, I just need to be able to redirect the output to an external which currently seems to not be possible. I am wondering if I disconnect the internal display entirely if it would redirect.

@Pawlicker I should also say that this laptop is quite old so it's very very very out of warranty and it's extremely unlikely that anybody's going to have replacement parts.

Pawlicker,

@RustyCrab brand and model?

@Pawlicker it refuses to redirect on boot. The gpu seems to think that the monitor is still working but the monitor itself does not show any activity.
