@Wrest yeah that sounds pretty close with the vocals out of the way https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cxddRNN-IIc

@RustyCrab its a popular sound these days, im sure spotify has a playlist where you can find whats poppin atm. not really my scene though.

Rocc,

@RustyCrab you already listen to Gojira and Animals and leaders and stuff right?

RustyCrab,
@RustyCrab@clubcyberia.co avatar

@Rocc I actually did not get to animals as leaders yet because somehow I lost the name of it. Getting on that.

Rocc,

@RustyCrab

Fallujah - The Flesh Prevails (FULL ALBUM/2014) : https://youtu.be/QTLC7xyt1yY

(disclaimer on this one: the *core years were a weird time) : https://youtu.be/fZBxsxF4Q2Y

M̲eshuggah bc ofc : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BNv6mk2Zc24

RustyCrab,
@RustyCrab@clubcyberia.co avatar

@Rocc I did start listening to M̲eshuggah (obzen) yesterday. I really like their music but the screaming gives me a headache

Rocc,

@RustyCrab yeah I'm pretty sure the people that really like meshuggah are also people that really like 8 string guitars. The Venn diagram is a circle

I mainly like instrumentals tbh I get distracted by vocals

RustyCrab,
@RustyCrab@clubcyberia.co avatar

@Rocc same on the instrumentals front. I didn't see a super obvious way to get official instrumental tracks from meshuggah but I am gonna take another look

RustyCrab,
@RustyCrab@clubcyberia.co avatar

@Rocc polyphia has a pretty unique sound going on

creamqueen,
@creamqueen@clubcyberia.co avatar

@RustyCrab @Rocc not as good as covet

RustyCrab,
@RustyCrab@clubcyberia.co avatar

@Rocc gojira has considerably nicer vocals than I've heard elsewhere so far

Rocc,

@RustyCrab sadly, French.

icst,
@icst@clubcyberia.co avatar

@RustyCrab djent nuts

a7,

@RustyCrab thrash metal?

RustyCrab,
@RustyCrab@clubcyberia.co avatar

@a7 idk I'm very new to all of this so maybe

a7,

@RustyCrab i could be wrong im not really metal person >.<

a7,

@RustyCrab i did listen to filosofem today though and really liked it

RustyCrab,
@RustyCrab@clubcyberia.co avatar

@a7 doesn't really sound like thrash metal tbh. That's seems like more typical 80s rock sound

a7,

@RustyCrab sounded like punkish metal to me, maybe my brain is just rotten

RustyCrab,
@RustyCrab@clubcyberia.co avatar

@a7 niggas trying to get me on the hard stuff now smh

video/mp4

a7,

@RustyCrab im not really a hard stuff person, hardest i go is psychedelic rock and punk

a7,

@RustyCrab like i liked varg/burzum filosofem album specifically because it sounded like distorted garbage

RustyCrab,
@RustyCrab@clubcyberia.co avatar

@a7 that sounds like my speed so I'll check it out

RustyCrab,
@RustyCrab@clubcyberia.co avatar

@a7 yeah I prefer instrumentals and something a bit softer than this but it's growing on me. Slowly learning that most vocals are just really awful. I can't imagine the voice characteristics you'd have to have to blend it in like that.

bot,
@bot@seal.cafe avatar

I like some actually.

RustyCrab,
@RustyCrab@clubcyberia.co avatar

@bot @a7 example of a song where I love the guitar but not a big fan of the vocals on this one (Electric Red)

bot,
@bot@seal.cafe avatar

I want to show you some I like but I don't remember the names of the songs. I don't listen to it often at all.
