@icedquinn The carbon tax is definitely an interesting case study in how the right tries to convince the public that a largely re-distributive tax that will more than likely positively impact them will be bad. You see the same thing happen in reverse with tax cuts that will grant a pittance to most Canadians and benefit the wealthiest far more.

i don't think the right even believes in carbon theory. it's mostly lefties and corpofascists pushing that.

i get from a market forces perspective that making people bear the costs of pollution will result in natural pressure towards 'better' solutions, although i remain unconvinced the carbon tax people have this in mind.
