I know everyone's been wondering "ari, how did the panel go???"
Well sadly I must inform that it went... FREAKING AMAZING?!
Despite our panel starting at the same time as the artist alley on a Saturday, we watched as not one, not two, not three, but about 15 people or so entered the room. To hear us talk about kids in anime!
Despite my fear that the slideshow wouldn't last very long, it somehow ended up taking 53 minutes! The goal was an hour, so I think we did pretty good!
Eventually I will post a copy of the presentation online. Sadly recording three panel was prohibited.
And this week I met not one, but two maps. And another said they attended the panel, and its possible I might meet them today! For a total of meeting 3 maps??? It's honestly so cool to be able to talk about this stuff, and gawk over the kids wearing cosplay haha.
Also at the end of the panel we had a dozen or so people left, two of which stayed to the very end of our hour to play some loli hangman. One of them had a deep discussion with us about how he liked to write about loli and shota, but was fearful that the stigma against it would get him crap. But after some recent animation that featured kids, he felt brave enough to do it, and hasn't got any hate so far!
All in all, it's been a very great weekend! Still got one day of the con left (today) and then after that there's like this rave thing??? Which sounds super dope, and then it's back home to my boring life sigh.
But hey, I'll see y'all possibly in June??? And if not, then next year!
