I tried that, got an advanced STEM degree, chased the dream, and then my industry made a windfall under covid and cashed out. Now not just my company but all our competitors are trying to make people quit, run on skeleton crews to squeeze every last penny out, and then go bankrupt on purpose. Fuckin sucks. The ship is going down and I'm not gonna get a raise or promotion for staying with it.
