@RustyCrab@Forestofenchantment Damn I was going to recommend Overclocked records. I haven't bought an album from them in years but they offered FLAC and MP4 files in an album at decent prices but unfortunately the site is gone now. It was video game remix soundtracks but some were worth it
@graf@RustyCrab@Forestofenchantment Rusty was just trying to find a half decent place to buy FLAC file music for something. I was going to a website I had bought some albums from that wasn't just bandcamp
@RustyCrab@Forestofenchantment@reloadedAK well i can rip them from TIDAL at FLAC or MQA (if they have the masters) if it's just because of piracy and you aren't selling a product and need licensing rights or something
HOWEVER
How do I know said site isn't just taking mp3s and converting them into 100 mb tracks and selling those? That's why I'm asking for sites people personally trust.
I am specifically avoiding piracy for this one thing.
@bot@Forestofenchantment@graf@reloadedAK dac/amp/headphone setup. I just found one though. It's probably unlikely to make a difference for typical popshit. For classical/instrumental stuff like this though, yes, I can absolutely hear a difference.
@Forestofenchantment@bot@graf@reloadedAK really? even the piano? I thought that was a pretty extreme difference. Maybe your volume was too low to really make it out

iirc there's spectogram programs that you use to open a flac, they analyze it and show an image, if the signal image goes from bottom to top, its legit, if its cut off at any point, its not lossless
