These days I buy anything besides groceries online, shops have shitty selections that are usually marked up to scam clueless boomers that won't think of checking that item online. Wanting anything particular is even worse since even with specialized stores they usually lack it, or it's low quality and high price. Shipping is so fast these days that you can get it in less than 2 days anyway so if it's not an emergency - no biggie. Also it feels like saving time since I just order it and forget about it until it gets shipped instead of wasting a lot of time going through shops that have nothing I'm looking for.
@deprecated_ii I keep looking up <mid to high end brands of X> and ALL of the stores, no matter how ritzy and specialized, carry nothing but the cheapest options with trash reviews. This is not a city in poverty like god damn.
@deprecated_ii it really makes me wonder if it's not their doing but rather the high end brands have simply stopped wanting to deal with distribution and instead just ship themselves

@prettygood@deprecated_ii I find it a lot more convenient and less risky just going to a store that has a reputation to keep (and I don't have to wait if I need it now) but it feels like the breadth of what's available has really changed. Maybe since covid.

I believe I read somewhere that a significant percentage of microSD cards on the market are fake and do not have the capacity that's advertised. Another wonderful gift from the assholes who shipped our industrial base to china.
