I mean, look at the facts. Juniper is a berry essentially indigenous to the northern hemisphere. Quinine is derived from the bark of a tree that grows in Peru. The odds that, just by chance, those two plants would even be in the same room, let alone that you'd infuse distilled liquor with juniper berries then infuse carbonated water with quinine and mix them with a wedge of lime is... it would take tens of thousands of years, if not centuries. This proves the delicious gin and tonic was brought to pre-contact (pre-Windrush) Britons by meso-American corn demons.
