Andromxda, to android in The YouTube app could finally get a sleep timer (APK teardown)

Yeah, as far as I’m aware, it just runs a copy of the NewPipeExtractor locally, that’s the same stuff that’s used in the Piped backend.

You can also disable the Piped proxy at Settings -> Instance -> Disable Piped proxy

It works pretty well for me. I don’t have any problems on piped.video, piped.adminforge.de and piped.ngn.tf

You can also just disable the Piped proxy in the settings, effectively making it function like NewPipe

God damn, just use LibreTube. It has a sleep timer, as well as many other advantages: No ads, no tracking, it uses the Piped API so you don’t have to connect to Google servers, and it’s fully open source and available on F-Droid: f-droid.org/en/packages/com.github.libretube/

They’re also on Mastodon and they even have a Lemmy community: !libretube

Tubular is better, it has SponsorBlock and ReturnYouTubeDislike integration

You might want to check out InnerTune or RiMusic for YTMusic, they are open source and don’t spy on you, unlike Google’s proprietary garbage

In the EU, this is illegal. As an EU resident, you have the right to subscribe to any service in another EU country.

Tubular is a fork of NewPipe with SponsorBlock and ReturnYouTubeDislike integration. LibreTube is another great option, which uses the Piped backend. They also have a Lemmy community, and you can check them out on Mastodon: fosstodon.org/

The app is great. Also great that it’s FOSS and available on Accrescent. But the name and the icon are (in my opinion) absolutely terrible.

Weird. I never had a single issue with the fingerprint sensor on the 6a, it literally works every time. It’s just a little slow, it could maybe be a little bit faster. But you know what’s a bad fingerprint sensor? Touch ID on older iPhones. That shit is terrible, never works for me.

Andromxda, to android in Comparison of privacy and/or security focused Android ROMs versus "Stock" Android

Oh yes there is. ARMv9 MTE, Titan M2 secure element supporting Android Verified Boot, StrongBox (source.android.com/docs/security/…/keystore), Weaver, Hardware key attestation and Insider attack resistance, as well as a programmable USB controller that allows the user to fully disable USB-C (while the device is locked) on a hardware level. Pixels also have hardware support for full Wi-Fi MAC address randomization, and all radios are completely separated from the main system through IOMMU. I recommend this video, it’s a pretty good breakdown of some of the hardware security features + the GrapheneOS privacy/security improvements.

Because the Pixel unfortunately is the only secure Android hardware platform

TL;DR: GrapheneOS is the best for privacy and security.
