Latest psyop just dropped - microsoft has done it again by hiring Lennart Poettering and getting him to implement or approve systemd-bsod.

That's right, for systemd/Linux computers, seeing bluescreens will become common, as every time a message with tag LOG_EMERG is output (I guess if a daemon crashes or something), the screen will become blue and the message printed with a QR code.

The idea seems to be to inflate the number of perceived issues with GNU/Linux, by making a blue screen visible, which is understood by normies to mean that the OS is borked and needs to be at least rebooted, or is borked permanently, even though in the case of systemd-bsod, the rest of the OS is still running just fine and only a key needs to be pressed to get the clutter out of the way.

I'm amazed how good they are at turning around what makes them look bad (all the windows computers in signs etc that can be seen to bluescreen with a useless error message) into something that will make GNU/Linux look bad.

Less commonly, computers that run systemd/Linux are seen to fail due to hardware failure, but typically the actual error is printed out, so you can see that "meh the eMMC or HDD failed", or Xorg is broken etc. Now these computers will show a bluescreen for all to see, just because a daemon failed and not because of an issue with the OS!

Resisting systemd all these years sure keeps paying off more and more.

Apparently I got reported today for using the tag and not being blind. I was told by multiple people on Mastodon that if I didn't have the energy to do alt text for every image I could use this tag and someone would do it for me.

Instead I got reported to my instance owner. You all need to make up your fucking minds what is acceptable and what isn't if you want people to stay on mastodon. As it stands, I don't feel comfortable posting images anymore because if I don't have the energy to write alt text then I get shamed, if I used I get reported

You people make it so tiring that for someone like me with ADHD and Executive Dysfunction it is much easier to just not use Mastodon to post any images!!!!

I'd also like to touch on how people always shame others with "invisible" illnesses. I cannot escape it. Just because I am sighted does not mean I am not disabled in some ways. But people can't see ADHD and executive dysfunction, so I just get their personal diagnosis of 'LAZY'.

I can tell why artists aren't flocking here in droves.

I don't know what I am going to do going forward but I feel pretty fucking uncomfortable posting any images to Mastodon now lest I be shamed or reported or fediblocked because someone didn't like whatever about my posts.
