@lamp According to data miners and such Genshin never deletes anything from the game. So all those past awesome events they decide to never re-run are there to take space and laugh at you.
This might be just a meme though. Most likely they didn't bother downsizing the graphics and cutscenes etc from PC/Console versions. So you have the same textures in a tiny screen. Looks good at 30fps on flagship phones I guess? (My Motorola G8 Power from 2020 can't run the game).
@susie@lamp i know console games do this to a degree. they keep a lot of stuff you can't use. because if someone else buys the dlc cosmetic it has to be on the console for others to see. even if its just like.. pink mercy, where the only people who have it bought it an entire game ago during a gimmick
i think it would be a good idea, have entire linux os as a disk image in windows file system, like a virtual machine, but booting natively. image only grows as much as space inside is used, can be shrinked again later..
i think it just need initramfs to load the driver for the disk image and then mount it from the ntfs
@lamp this sounds cursed since you have to mount windows and then mount a file via loopback from that filesystem.
i don't know anything about mounting sparse block devices in linux. i know lvm has thin volumes where you can overprovision them and they will claim space as it actually gets used. have not used them so i don't know how well they handle things like defragmenting free space back to the storage pool
Lol, how many ActivityPub servers are out there that allow public registration without review? Are they gonna keep on exploiting those servers one after another to spam the fediverse indefinitely? Lmao good job guys.
