i did a pricing evaluation on the old ones and i think the markup ended up being 100% or something like that, mostly because if you found comparable screens on ali they were 300$, blackfins are another like 10$, not sure about the custom plastic work.

@creamqueen @icedquinn Shitty cameras are great! I suggest doing everything manually (not sure if that camera even has extra sensors in it). Fully mechanical film cameras are fun, but don't use them for anything serious. The bride won't be happy if her wedding photographs are all overexposed after developing them.

It could have been interlaced broadcast recording or an older DVD. Those are VFR at times (mix of progressive and interlaced content). The "fix" is to either play them back on proper deinterlacing supporting player or deinterlacing them with ffmpeg. Deinterlacing with 2x framerate (bobbing etc) results in a bigger file, but obviously smoother motion.

Was deinterlacing what chatgpt recommended? Or did it tell you to drop frames or something?

I ate a raw onion like an apple, because I read that's something people do and I was curious. Do. Not. Try. At. Home!

I've been trying to get rid of the weird taste from my mouth for like two hours and I keep salivating like crazy. And this is coming from someone who loves onions in her food.

Rice with margarine melted in it finally managed to neutralize it for the most part. I was really losing hope here for a moment lol

I did try to research and buy a n64 controller to use on emulators few years back and there was nothing out there I could buy with a proper original n64 joystick. Feels bad man.

@coolboymew @mangeurdenuage I had the EU/PAL controllers and I loved the joystick. After N64 going to PS2 felt such a downgrade even though now that Dualshock 2 controller was also a freaking beast compared to what comes out nowadays. Just something about no soft padding and thin edges made it way easier to control for me.

Also I love GameCube controller C-Stick over any modern "two identical sticks" configuration. It just felt so easy and quick to flick with the tip of the thumb.

@LibrarianRA I kinda like this one. Shelves that swing out like that look like they'd help unpacking groceries as well as keeping inventory what's in the fridge. I guess the hinges on those shelves were failure points or some other big enough reason to stop manufacturing fridges like this.

My fridge has only the light inside it, but I can see that my mom would love this.

@icedquinn If you are feeling adventurous: I had a friend who always used one of the water bags with a long plastic tube straw inside his backpack. Those take little space (cause flexible so only take as much space as the water inside them), but it might attract some gazes when you are sipping. On the other hand you can watermaxx with hands-free sipping without having to stop :blobcatsipsmile:

@icedquinn I've tried to get to that game in multiple occasions, but I just get scared and stressed out in act 1, because every conversation feels like it matters and I get scared of stumbling in to an ambush. I guess the game is just too realistic for me lol

When I give it an another chance in the future I will get one of those "teammate AI" mods so I can focus on only one character and hopefully lessen the anxiety of micromanaging everyone. (So have to only stress about the dialogue choices).

I set up DXVK for SWTOR and it seems the game is running better now than with DX9 (on Windows). Due to running it with DXVK I can also take advantage of the frame limiter inside that and ignore the bad in-game limiter (just set it to max 200fps).

Using a translation layer even on Windows can result in smoother and better performing game, especially on older DX9 games. I suggest trying it out, because it is literally just swapping .dll files to uninstall.

Installation works by downloading the release zip, unzipping the appropriate .dll files to where the game's .exe is and copy-pasting one of the ready-made dxvk.conf files to the same directory.
