Funny, I think it’s used a ton and it’s so ubiquitous in some situations that I forget it’s even there, but immediately notice it’s absence.

[Feature Request] It would be really useful if we could set nicknames to WiFi ssids.

I, often, find myself wondering what all these WiFi’s are on my phone and I think it would be useful to be able to set a nickname for a wifi network so to remember which one is which. For example “parents house” etc. What do you think?

Gotta agree with this comment. If it’s an unknown network, and you don’t know the password, you can’t connect anyways, so who cares what it’s called. And what additional insight is gained by labeling your parents wifi ‘parents house’ when you know you can only use it at their house?

newthrowaway20,

Umm… they’re doing this. I literally was prompted the other day to test out Gemini as my assistant app. Granted this was my fuckup by opting in, but I thought it’d at least have the basics… Now I can’t set reminders, or look up my calendar info with my voice like I used to. Not being able to identify songs is just as equally ridiculous. It barely searches.

newthrowaway20,

Yep. I’m in the same boat. If it can’t be used to generate ad revenue, Google doesn’t seem to care about it.

newthrowaway20,

That never worked right for me. Every phone had its NFC chip at a different location on the back, so you always had to figure out where the hell you had to tap the phones.
