passing my media literacy test after watching Starship Troopers.
IF the humans started the conflict then it's pretty much an Israel/Palestine situation.
The movie really doesn't make it clear who's the aggressor and maybe that's on purpose. The only thing the audience sees is the bugs hurling rocks at earth trying to kill everybody. In hindsight, the only reason they could even know to do that is because a brain bug figured it out where earth was as a result of an invasion.
I think a small amount of dialogue about human expansion into the galaxy would have made that more clear. If you don't put that together it's just a big dumb movie about killing bugs.
My manager resigned from his position. I don't blame him because he put up with too much bullshit the company failed him. The company admits they failed him. I half expected them to ask me to manage, would have said no unless six digits, it really sounded like they were implying it and that they are scraping the barrel.
If they ever ask me which they might soon what can/needs to be done in order for them to stay afloat I will straight up tell them they need to scrap the current product and rebuild it from the ground up new. Logically and categorically that's what needs to happen as it now is the path of least resistance.
Any other tech company would have been acquired by the big three while a parallel system would have been built in two years by the acquiring firm for customer migration and then everyone who worked in the previous company would be fired because they are no longer needed. That sounds brutal but that's what needs to happen. That or just switching to their prefabbed hosting platform. Arrogance at this stage is willful negligence.
I'm not daft I've seen the writing on the wall. I'm just biding my time. It's daijoubu because I never needed this job anyway I just needed something to hold me over after college for a little while.
some serious database degradation is going on with the poast matrix. offlining now to swap the drives to the other racked chassis and im going to attempt to repair the database. downtime will be probably at least an hour, likely 4 or 5
@graf Right now my problem is I can't recognize my replacement drives. II get a drive letter but can't use it (factory new and tested).
And I can't determine, if the tech dropped the new drive and just lied, the port was damaged because he slammed the sled in and bent the port or if the backplane is faulty. It's the second chassis I have that's like this in this and the chassis had like 3 year uptime with no problems prior.
@graf I'd fly there if I didn't have pets to take care of and work thought it was a good use of a plane ticket and hotel. But no, everything has to be done through email or ticket remote hands. It fucking sucks.
