I saw an ambulance on the road the other day that had its lights on continuously instead of flashing. It confused the heck out of me, I didn't even know that was possible!
There is a small chance that it was something else (it was dark and I only saw it passing by like hundred meters away), but the shape, hue and intensity of the light sure looked like an ambulance 🤔

@cato also surprises me a little bit.

Sure, these lights are LEDs these days. But in a former life, i had a project where we would interface with these systems from two manufacturers. Those were controlled via CiA 447 (canopen), and I'd probably remember if there had been a "always on" mode.

Maybe their firmware crashed?

@cato did that for small firefighter/police/emergency cars. Tbh I don't really remember, but somehow i thought they indeed had a single controller for rooftop, radiator grill etc.

Thinking about it, that doesn't seem sensible, agreed :)
