Could we get something like PieFed's "Add Remote" button? (kbin.social)

A super helpful feature that PieFed (a new fediverse thread aggregator like Lemmy & Kbin) has is an "Add Remote" button on its communities page. This button allows you to get a community on another instance to appear on your PieFed instance (and thus get the PieFed instance to start getting posts from that community)....

Icon design request for Interstellar (kbin.social)

At the moment, the programming of Interstellar is going well (if you want to help with that, see below), but I do need help with an icon design. I'm not that great at designing things and don't have a whole lot of time to do it anyway, so if any of you wanted to create some drafts for an icon (I was thinking something space...

Is there a maximum size for Kbin thumbnails to federate from other instances? (kbin.social)

Posting pictures from Lemmy.world since I still have trouble uploading on Kbin, but sometimes the pictures don't appear as a thumbnail on Kbin regardless of how long I wait for it to federate. Clicking on it still opens the direct image link, but there's no thumbnail when scrolling past in the feed. Is there a max image size or...

Where can I find documentation on how federation works? (kbin.social)

I can't find anything on the specifics of how federation actually works. The op thread gets copied to any federated server? What happens if the thread is deleted on the op server? Does it still exist on all other federated servers? How do comments and votes work? That kind of thing.

Just wanted a warning, Lemmy.World is perhaps worse than reddit at respecting their users - Reddit Migration - kbin.social (kbin.social)

Reminder that centralization is bad and anyone who thinks this arrangement where a big power player like this can control discourse and whether or not an instance basically dies likely has an affliction to where boots taste good.

What are your thoughts on Microblogs vs threads? (kbin.social)

When I first joined Kbin I posted threads due to being a reddit refugee but have started posting microblogs as time went on. I have also noticed some magazines have more threads while others have more microblog posts. For example kbinmeta has more threads while the most active magazine I moderate has mostly microblogs.
