Related to last post, but I think it is annoying how both mine and Manchester decided to copy London and call their transport authorities “Transport for X”
“Transport for London” is already a clunky mouthful, and TfL is a funny one to type out all the time. “London Transport” was a much neater sounding name.
Here we went from “Centro”, which is such a cool name?? It sounds so futuristic. Then we went to Network West Midlands, which sounds… Nice, I guess, it flows well when you say it. But now it’s Transport for West Midlands, which… Why? It has way too many syllables??? Why couldn’t it be Transport West Midlands?
Transport for Greater Manchester is also similarly unwiedly. IDK what it could be called instead, since the previous name was the equally mouthy Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive.
Anyway, when the name of your metropolitan country is already wordy, adding more words without considering flow is pretty incredible
