>Helldivers 2 is launching on both PC and PS5 simultaneously

4 years in and the PS5 still has no games

At this point both Playstation and Xbox would be better off just giving up the ghost on future console generations and just make branded PC's since all their games are on PC, or will be eventually, anyways

All_bonesJones,

@Shadowman311 so what you're saying is that they should get into a losing fight against the steam deck which already captured that market

i feel like regardless of what they do at this point the ps6 and xbox tic tac toe are gonna be the last console gen for both of them if they even get made

no I mean like branded desktops, portable consoles are a niche market that Sony is already into and Xbox doesn't need to worry about due to their cloud gaming stuff on their Android app. Also between the Switch and the people who have the disposable income to drop a grand on a steam deck, thats pretty oversaturated as is.

@Shadowman311 @All_bonesJones For the price of a new steam deck I was able to get my kid a far more powerful laptop with a dedicated GPU (Rtx 3050)

@internetfreak @All_bonesJones The Steam Deck is an enthusiast's device, the notion that it's "dominating the PC market" is absurd

@Shadowman311 @internetfreak @All_bonesJones you’re right, im enthused about my steam deck

@Shadowman311 @internetfreak @All_bonesJones he has somewhat of a point though. the steam deck has catapulted linux gaming both natively and proton support making the last couple years and ones to come bring us ever closer to the year of the linux desktop. if you ask people familiar to both why they prefer to use windows over linux its almost always compatibility. the massive sales the steam deck did renewed interest in it and has driven developera—even bethesda—to update decade old games. look at fallout 3 for example. it’s been plagued with G4WL since launch. people had to patch it out on the nexus. bethesda removed the requirement a decade later just because of the steam deck compatibility.

there is no question steam deck has changed gaming and in specific linux gaming for the better
