@RustyCrab sometimes people note that we had smart agents in like 1998: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SmarterChild

Back then I was friends with one of the developers of it though, and he told me about the massive amount of effort it took to make smarterchild. years of work, continuous additional work to keep it up to date.

I try to explain to people that I can install an LLM on my desktop and it's like 99% as good in many ways and in other ways it's far better.
