@karpour I think the large ons is at a few hundred watts, the medium one at around 100-150 and the small one should be around 20-30? Rough estimates based on what I know is inside
@vivi the large one is from Stuttgart, the smallest one is a demo unit from the manufacturer of the large one, and the medium sized one is a test unit from a different manufacturer, I don't think that was ever at an airport.
@Drayventhal that's the main problem. Most things are just decorative or I occasionally turn them on to look at them and be happy. But at least for the large one I'd like to use it as a kind of reminder of my schedule and other tasks...
@Drayventhal yeah the medium one is a different manufacturer, I still need to figure that one out :D
Tetris is not a bad idea. It would be slow but hmmmmm
@lachlan not really, but then again, I have a bit of experience with the various split-flap systems that were in use in Germany. Basically I just built a wooden frame and slotted the modules in. Some flat cable along the back and an ESP32 as the external controller
At the same time, it makes me wonder if there are now airports where there’s a couple displays in a row, but there’s an empty slot (the exact same size of the displays) that has something like a (now-aging) advertisement poster hastily taped over it…
@cato And some grizzled chain-smoking police detective looking once again through a file folder related to missing airport displays… reading notes for the hundredth time, looking at Polaroids in the file… interviews and transcripts…
@talviunelias@cato you can just take them, they don't belong to anyone. i have 6 massive departure screens i stole from Euston Train Station in the summer of 2015.
