@meso Is this targeted at English speakers maybe? I feel like going from a Slavic language might not be that hard, at least Russian has almost all the same things as Latvian except we don't have neuter gender and our number-plural system is more sane and Russian doesn't have definitive adjectives and I honestly don't know how verbs work and oh the half-verbs-half-something-else. Anyways I think it shouldn't be too hard unless Bulgarian is as similar to Russian as Old English to Modern English
@meso (Baltic and Slavic languages are closely related, IIRC the prevailing theory is that Proto-Balto-Slavic just got cut in half at some point, maybe the Finnic Chuds did it (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chud ))
@Ukko oh, I know Russian. they're similar in some ways, a lot of words are similar and it sometimes sounds similar especially Old-Bulgarian, but Bulgarian is quite different honestly, it's better than Russian in many ways. but when learning I can leap from Bulgarian to Russian to Latvian, and from Bulgarian directly to Latvian because there's some words that are just the same. I was watching a video by some Latvian language youtuber and she was trying to explain "bēda" and I didn't really get that word because she sounded like when people idealize Japanese culture/taboos, but then I realized the etymology (it's literally just the Bulgarian/Russian word беда, trouble, etc) and yeah it suddenly made sense
