@moth@Ukko The problems arise when you start trying to resolve the problem of adding multiple devices or participants who were not there on group creation.
It's not intuitive compared to free leaves/joins in unencrypted chats.
And details like blocking/non-blocking related, I understand. I was only thinking about a static group, with the primary concern being costly re-encoding of the msg body, and not any of the other, many, complications for actual implementation.
@moth@Ukko Yeah, the group has to be static or it just doesn't work (in a secure way, imo)
I would actually contend that the previous history should stay only on devices it was already on, not re-encrypted with new keyset
@subtype@Ukko no information once digitized, should be considered secret or safe because of the trivial nature of duplication.
Don't put life or death info on a computer system of any kind if you are not forced to.
