@Groomschild@Awoo@MK2boogaloo It's fine I'm not actually hunting for a party to join atm anyways. I just hadn't heard of anything about it before now.
I got some pretty funny stories from the campaign I ran on Varis about a year ago myself.
@MK2boogaloo@Awoo@Groomschild Well on the lighter end, the first one shot I ran to test the waters with them ended with one party member deciding he didn't actually want to disarm the bomb it was centered around, causing him to prematurely detonate it himself insta gibbing him and another party member who had offered a help check to his roll. While this was happening the party also kinda just watched a Crab person drag the party's monk into the ocean.
@Awoo@Groomschild@MK2boogaloo I could also tell you about my a Dwarf Paladin I played who will live down in memory as the guy who beat a thug to death with a chair leg.
Long story short he had willingly let himself get caught to spare the mayor of the town from getting hurt as he was being held hostage. Was more or less buying time before the hellraisers in the party did something stupid without their babysitter around (The Warforged Pirate Barbarian used a goblin as a shovel to dig a grave in the center of town while this was happening), and in a scramble I proceeded to use the chair leg as a bludgeoning tool to smite the guy who was trying to win me over in the town brig. A couple members of the town including a liaison for a criminal faction I wanted nothing to do with came in thinking they were going to come save me only to see me holding a stolen knife thinking they were reinforcements for the guy I just killed.
@Awoo@Groomschild@MK2boogaloo Other highlights from this campaign I played in include the party's Druid wandering into the woods and watching a random child incidentally die to a bear. After the Druid gave the kid a burial, like 3 sessions later when we were storming the local thugs hideout his mom asked us if we could look for him and gave us info on a secondary entrance to their hideout. Party broke out into nervous laughter as most of us realized what had happened but didn't know enough in character to say anything.
Another funny time was a Dragonborn Rogue deciding that he was more then capable of 1v1ing an Ogre. I gave him a shield of faith and a pat on the back before I got held down and wailed on by three Orcs who had fucking T-posed over a river with their movement skill, only to watch the Ogre critical strike and hit the Rogue so hard he lost his arm. We then spent the rest of the session trying to save said Rogue as the Ogre and his boss had decided to take him hostage.
Overall it was a fun campaign that ended up falling apart due to schedules unfortunately.
