@Meemoo I just can't get into HSR. Story suffers the same problem as Genshin, the MC is just a fucking errant boy to solve other peoples shit while occasionally focusing on the main plot.
Honkai Impact part 2 will suffer the exact same problem now that it has a shitty self insert instead of a proper MC like Kiana.
I bet the suits at homoverse are still seething at the writer for killing off Elysia given her insane popularity and her merch printing money.
I'm honestly surprised they haven't brought her back as an expy in HSR.

Only problem is she acted like a total cunt to the player because it was actually an imposter and after that is revealed and the real Tingyun is missing we're supposed to be believe she was a great person and they do some over the top emotional funeral cutscene. (but she's never confirmed dead) :reimu_sigh:

Problem is characters are completely disposable. They keep shitting out new ones that get 10 minutes of story and the majority are never seen again.
Early HI3 did it right in the early days by powering up old characters with new suits and keeping them story relevant. But after Genshin they just kept shitting out new characters instead.
@Tamamo@Meemoo Can confirm in Genshin. Launch characters rarely get attention from Mihoyo anymore, especially the 4 stars. There are launch 4 stars like Sucrose and Xinyan that STILL don’t have their Hangout events, yet new 4 stars get theirs almost immediately when they come out.

@Tamamo@Vidmastereon@Echigo@Meemoo Epic Seven has a functional system to update old units, but then to get them you need to farm a currency from the challenge boss mode to buy them from a shop, this shop only has the most recent handful of them, these items also have a 1 and 3 chance of giving you the buff you want (Each Exclusive Equipment has 3 seperate buffs that you are given a random one of when you buy them). For older buffs you have to craft them using the ones you don't want, but you only get the first skill for it this way unless you spend 7-10 exclusive equipment in the crafting to get the ability to choose a skill.

I played both HI3 and Genshit, the latter more so, so I know the ins and outs of their bullshit.
Everything is on a scripted pattern and copypasted from Genshin.
I'm not surprised people are going back to playing genshin instead, I called that shit right from the beta.
