@NitroDubs see i think that makes it for me. because it really doesn't belong. on it's own it probably sounded like fucking trash when they were mixing it. but the uniqueness of the drums and the fact there was other firsts (no solos etc) makes it a great album
@graf@NitroDubs The first time I heard St. Anger was when an obese mulatto girl was blasting it, and I still don't get the appeal of that album at all.
@Stagg_3751@graf The appeal that I can recall from that time was more relief that Metallica didn't break up more so than the quality of the album. I can remember that there was a similar feeling around Death Magnetic, though that album felt more like fan service than an album featuring what the band was actually feeling at the time.
@Stagg_3751@NitroDubs coincidentally when 72 Seasons came out I listened to it as I had considered buying the vinyl and I hated it. I came back to it months later and found a track I liked linked below. interestingly, Lux Æterna is originally a Clint Mansell composure for the film Requiem for a Dream
@graf@HarryNuggets It's facts that St Anger sucked ass even for nu-metal, but more because it showed how low Metallica were willing to go as far as money chasing is concerned if TBA and Napster didn't expose them.
