This coming weekend I'm planning on about an hour of Baest downtime. I'm going to perform some maintenance on the database. This maintenance will consist of rsyncing all of the data off the drives and then rsyncing it all back on. Why? To balance the array as it was never balanced after I upgraded it from a RAID 1 to a RAID 10.
I expect the downtime to last about 45 but to play it safe I'll say 90 minutes of downtime. #AnimeArmpits 7cb5b60fd2.jpg
@DocScranton@dcc@sjw I was gonna tag dcc to see if he had an appropriate GIF of Kong from :strangelove: but he's tagged already so we just have to wait a second.
@lauralt@dcc@p@sjw The situation might be better than I thought: I've set up direct ssh access to my router, and the server's bios is set to remember last power state, so if power goes down and back up, it's the matter of logging into the router then logging into dropbear in initramfs and unlocking the disks over the network. My reaction times is another question, though.
@realcaseyrollins@dcc@sjw I don't know what you mean, the software is Pleroma here, too, but is somewhat more up-to-date than FSE, the hardware is very different, and sjw is hosting in a house in the floodplain of the MIGHTY MISSISSIPPI RIVER and FSE is on a box that the smoke escaped from in the future location of the Arizona Bay.
