Looking back with current knowledge about Disney I think they did try to hide the word sex in the Lion King. They were likely testing the waters.

First it's they hide and call you a conspiracy nut when you point it out. Next thing you know you have drag queen story hour at the public library.

i used to believe it was all paranoia but now that they have admitted to pushing the poz - it seems very likely that it was done deliberately back then and even the decode was leaked to push normalization and humiliation ritual.
