The older I get, the more I feel it's impossible to have a sane view of the world that doesn't include at least the idea of God on an intuitive level, even if it's not that of a conventional religion.
My point is that whether you believe in God or not, the argument that he's just an idea or a superstition is a bad one. There are all sorts of "ideas" we rely on daily that don't have a material manifestation, including counting numbers, the alphabet, and language itself.
Nonetheless, the reddit tier atheists will attempt to use the argument to dispense with God while clutching their pearls about a myriad of "ideas," including "ideas" they invoke in their denial of the existence of God.
