Well but that's true of virtually every plant. The main downside to tobacco (aside from smoking something that wasn't meant to be inhaled) is the PFAS which is almost entirely due to the chemical reaction of lighting sugar on fire. Again same chemical reaction as in EP IIRC.
Smoking cigars solves a majority of these problems and you can further reduce your risk by growing and drying your own tobacco leaves.
