@s8n i think xmpp is just less of a trash fire. its lacking client implementors because all the desktop programmers died. but the major issue with the tcp transport (no packet framing) was fixed in the websocket spec. so idk.
although now i'm somewhat disgusted that the blacklist cancer became a thing now over there.
