I think it's the opposite way around.
At least thematically Dune has a more adult story than Starwars. Maybe it's the movies... but the book was cool.
I mean starwars is about good vs evil and blowing up a big space station magically solves everyones problems.
Dune is about a struggle between two aristocratic houses, mixed with religious themes.
